Samantha Gordon
Hello! My name is Samantha and I provide my clients with a warm, client-centered, and holistic approach to therapy.
I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and have an educational and professional background rooted in anti-oppressive, feminist, and culturally informed theoretical frameworks.
Priority Approaches and Modalities
Trauma Care Approaches
Trauma can profoundly impact one’s emotional and physical well-being.
I provide a compassionate, safe space to process past experiences using evidence-based techniques that promote healing, resilience, and empowerment. Together, we’ll work to rebuild a sense of safety, trust, and control in your life.
Parts Work
Understanding and integrating different aspects of your inner self can be a transformative journey.
I use Parts Work to help you explore the various “parts” of your personality, uncovering their roles and addressing inner conflicts. This approach fosters self-compassion and personal harmony.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS is a powerful therapeutic model that views the mind as a system of different parts.
I use this approach to help you build relationships with these parts, heal wounded ones, and restore balance within yourself. Together, we’ll work towards self-leadership and inner peace.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotions are at the core of our experiences and relationships.
Through EFT, I help individuals and couples better understand, express, and regulate their emotions. This approach strengthens emotional bonds and enhances personal and relational well-being.
Attachment-Based Therapy
Our early relationships shape how we connect with others.
I use attachment-based therapy to explore these patterns, addressing wounds and fostering healthier connections. This approach supports you in building secure and meaningful relationships.
Strength-Based Therapy
You already possess strengths that can help you overcome challenges.
This approach focuses on identifying and leveraging your unique capabilities, fostering resilience and self-efficacy to empower you in achieving your goals.
Humanistic Therapy
You are the expert in your own life, and your experiences matter deeply.
Humanistic therapy emphasizes self-awareness, personal growth, and unconditional acceptance. Together, we’ll create a space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and aspirations.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Our thoughts influence our feelings and behaviours.
Using CBT, I’ll help you identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, replacing them with constructive ones. This approach is effective for managing anxiety, depression, and other challenges.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Mindfulness can transform how you experience life.
MBCT combines mindfulness practices with CBT techniques to reduce stress, manage emotions, and prevent the recurrence of negative thought patterns. Together, we’ll cultivate a more present and balanced mindset.
Credentials, Experience & Expertise
Nice to Meet You!
By emphasizing the importance of a strong therapeutic bond with my clients, I try to foster a sense of empowerment and resilience that clients can harness outside of the therapeutic environment.
Although the path to therapeutic change is not always linear, by establishing collaboratively set goals and enhancing self-awareness, I hope to support my clients in achieving the change they desire.
As someone who has benefited from therapy myself, I understand the trials and tribulations of finding a therapist who is right for you and the difficulties associated with personal growth. I believe that regardless of where you are on your journey, I can contribute by providing a listening ear, resources, and the commitment necessary to meet your unique needs.

What should I bring?
You don’t need to bring anything specific to your first session—just come ready to share your thoughts and feelings.
If you have any previous therapy notes, assessments, or any relevant stuff, feel free to bring them along. This can help provide more context for your therapist, but it’s not required.
Your session is a safe space to begin exploring your emotions and experiences.
How long are sessions?
Sessions typically last about 50 minutes. This time allows for meaningful discussion and reflection. Throughout the session, we make sure you feel comfortable, supported, and heard.
Our goal is to offer you a space where you can freely explore your thoughts and emotions in a secure, non-judgmental environment.
Is therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is fundamental to our work. We keep all your personal information and the details of our discussions completely private, unless specific legal or ethical circumstances require disclosure. We'll discuss these exceptions with you during your initial session.
Protecting your privacy is always our utmost priority.
